Twist Back Messy Bun We are always looking for cute updo hairstyles.  I love this DIY combo hairstyle of twist-backs and messy bun!  It is the perfect combo of soft feminine and everyday messy. It can be dressed up or down, worn everyday or for special occasions.  I’m thinking this would be perfect for that summer wedding you’re invited to! Start by gathering a small section of hair on the heavy side of your part. Divide that section into two pieces and begin your twist by bringing the bottom piece up over the top piece. Now you will pick up a new section of hair in the front and add to the bottom section. Next pick up a new piece of hair on the top and add to the top piece/section of hair. If you love big braids but your hair is medium length or a bit on the thin side, this post is for you. Typically when you use clip-in hair extensions they are placed horizontally across the back and sides of your head. If you’ve been following my posts here on CGH you know I like to find alternative ways to apply clip-in hair extensions to maximize the results of certain hairstyles. This requires some creativity and willingness to experiment. No matter what kind of style you’re doing you need the hair extensions to fall in the direction that they will be pulled. For example, if you’re wearing your hair down and curled, the extensions will be placed in the traditional manner horizontally across the back and sides of your head. If you’re wearing a ponytail, the extensions should be layered in a circle around a centralized ponytail. Next we have a simple glitter gradient – done in a palette of white and blue it gives that sparkly, frosty winter morning feel – so simple and cute when you’re snuggled up in a sweater by a roaring fire! Hello everyone!  With 2017 winding down to a close (how did that happen so quickly?) so comes my last CGH Lifestyle post. I’ve really loved sharing my nail art ideas, techniques, and tips with you for the last 12 months, and I hope you’ve enjoyed them as well. Today I have something fitting for the season – if you live in the colder climates I’m sure you’re all too familiar with the site of snow. If you don’t, you can still rock out some cute snowy looks! First up are some pretty white snowflakes over a holographic base. I painted my nails black and let them dry. Then I topped with a scattered holographic topper (one of my favourites is China Glaze Fairy Dust). Then I stamped snowflakes on top using a white stamping polish. It reminds me of Christmas Eve snow!

Pull-Thru braids are seriously my favorite.  There are so many different ways to style one.  Today we are sharing a few different ways you can wear a beautiful pull-thru. Items Needed: Brush, rat-tail comb, small hair elastics, bobby pins, hairspray {if desired}. Time Requirement: 3-5 minutes Skill Level: Easy Step-By-Step Instructions: Pic up the top half of your hair  (about 1″ above your ears) pull it all backward and secure with a small elastic at the back of your head. Pick up that 1″ section of hair above your ear and divide into 3 pieces.  Create a regular three strand braid long enough to reach the back of your head. Go back and pancake your braid to create volume.  Lay it backward across your  ponytail and secure with a bobby pin. Repeat steps 2-3 on the other side of your head.
